Tails in stupid-looking costumeExpedition To Fanboy Island Preparing For Departure

by James Calhoun (CoyoteNet)

FALCONAR UNIVERSITY, AFSH, 12-FEB-2001: An expedition team of five researchers, three adventurers and a guy named Stu are preparing to depart next week for Fanboy Island. The team was given the go-ahead yesterday when word was recieved that Kitchington mayor Doctor Zachary would agree to suspend firing upon the island until the expedition returned.

Fanboy Island, which is located two miles off the eastern coast of AFSH's mainland in [Type Ocean Name Here] (so called due to a cartographer's oversight five years ago), is divided in two by Mt. Noodpix, which is shaped vaguely like a giant statue of Bunnie Rabbot. The western side which faces AFSH is inhabited by the residents of Elohtonk Village (population 29,045), a prison colony originally started to exile bad fan characters from the AFSH mainland under the ruse that they were being "trained for Freedom Fighter missions". Reports of their progress are continually relayed to the mainland, where cartoonist Abigail Ryder then uses them as material for her syndicated Freedom Fighters: L33T SKWAD!!!1! comic strip.

The expedition, however, will be setting out to explore the eastern side of the island, which is known only as "Gonterman's Folly". Little is known about this area as the previous two expedition teams had been driven utterly insane by whatever they observed. They hope to avoid this fate by wearing blindfolds and earmuffs at all times once they cross Mt. Noodpix, relying on their sense of smell to gather data.

The team will depart from Miles Prower International Airport next week on a helicopter, transfer halfway out to a speedboat which will then crash into the rocky shoals around Fanboy Island, then they will swim to shore narrowly avoiding the hungry man-eating Spamfish, and traverse Mt. Noodpix in a caravan of talking black sports cars.
